My Dog Skip

u noe those late nites where they show boring old movies dat never made it up the big screens?BOY! i was wrong man...i happen to switch to channel 5 one nite and they were showing this movie MY DOG SKIP...it was really GOOD man...

its about this author real life story about him and his dog Skip...it was made into a movie...btw the author is Willie Morris...well the story is abt his childhood adventures he had wif his dog when his mom gave it to him on his 9th birthday...there are a few qoutes in the movies that has very strong meaning to it...here are a few...

-"In my life I find that memories of the spirit linger and sweeten long after memories of the brain have faded."

-"Why in childhood and youth do we wish time to pass so quickly - we want to grow up so fast - yet as adults we wish just the opposite?"

this is my favourite...this is towards the end of the movie
when Willie Morris was given a scholarship to England he left his hometown and his beloved dog...after a month his dog passed away and this wat he says in the movie:
-"...They buried him out under the elm tree, they said. That wasn't totally true. For he really lay buried in my heart."

finally the movie was over and it end wif..."In living memory of Willie Morris (1934-1999)"

i was like WOW!totally sweep me off my feet man...really thumbs up to this movie!
Cheers to Channel 5...i was wrong abt ur boring late nite movies...my apologies!please show more interesting movies during the late nites!really appreciate it!

John Lennon

On December 8, 1980, John Lennon was murdered outside his home in New York City while returning home from work at the recording studio.

25 years after his death, people around the world gathered to commemorate this legendary singer. Let us all take this chance to honor and remember him...

I like all his songs...but "Imagine" is one of my favourite...here is the lyrics to the song:

Imagine there's no heaven, it's easy if you try,
No hell below us, above us only sky,
Imagine all the people, living for today.
Imagine there's no countries, it isn't hard to do,
Nothing to kill or die for, and no religion too,
Imagine all the people, living life in peace.
You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one,
I hope someday you'll join us, and the world will be as one.

Imagine no possessions, I wonder if you can,
No need for greed or hunger, a brotherhood of man,
Imagine all the people, sharing all the world.
You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one,
I hope someday you'll join us, and the world will live as one.

His spirit still lives among us...so let us keep Love and Peace in our hearts and the world will live as one...

Cheers!

just abit of LAT!

Datuk Lat from Malaysia...his personal touch to kumpung lifestyle give him the inspiration to draw his comic...he came a long way to become what he is today...his story is something that we should learn from...a never say die spirit...

A short history about him:

Kampung Boy, Town Boy, Mat Som and Kampung Boy: Yesterday and Today are just some of the more popular works of prolific cartoonist Datuk Lat. With a strong following and fan base in his hometown Malaysia and Singapore, Datuk Lat is one of the most talented and well-known cartoonists Asia has seen and is known all around the world for his comics.
52-year old Datuk Lat (also known as Mohamed Nor Khalid) was born in 1951 in Kota Baru, a kampong village in northern Malaysia, where he first began drawing cartoons at age 13. Datuk Lat's achievement as a cartoonist did not come without many early disappointments. He acknowledges his innate talent in drawing but attributes his success to some key influences in his life who put him on the right path and helped him develop his skills and love for drawing.
One of the key influences is Datuk Lat's father (known as the "village jester" in his kampong) who encouraged him to develop his passion to draw as a child. He inculcated the value of simplicity in Datuk Lat and recommended he focus on his everyday environment - drawing local scenes and people around him. This advice has been reflected in all Datuk Lat's works and has made his art truly distinctive from other cartoonists and easy to relate to.
Datuk Lat was recognised as a gifted illustrator when his cartoons were first published in Tiga Sekawan in 1964. He later met Raja Had, considered then the King of Malaysian cartoons, who eventually became his mentor. Raja Had emphasised the importance of sensitivity towards others which Datuk Lat took to heart.
A significant transformation to Datuk Lat's life took place when his father sent him to Ipoh, a town in the state of Perak in Malaysia, for his education. There he met Mrs Moira Hew, a strict disciplinarian who taught him English and who was supportive of his drawing. His proficiency in English laid the foundation for his comics and his experience in Ipoh as a schoolboy was used in his very popular Malaysian Life series.
Datuk Lat encountered considerable frustration and experienced countless rejections after leaving Ipoh for Kuala Lumpur to become a cartoonist. He joined New Straits Times (NST) as a crime reporter with the objective of becoming an illustrator. Unfortunately, his dream was not realised for several years until he met the chief editor of NST, Lee Siew Yee, who kick started his career as a cartoonist. For his accomplishments, Lat was given the prestigious Malaysian honorific title "Datuk" in 1994.

Sound good rite! Go try...

Office Dares...I tried!

One Point Office Dares
1) Ignore the first five people who say "good morning" to you.
2) Groan out loud in the toilet cubicle (at least one other 'non-player' must be in the toilet at the time).
3) To signal the end of a conversation, clamp your hands over your ears and grimace.
4) Leave your zipper open for one hour. If anyone points it out, say,"Sorry, I really prefer it this way".
5) Walk sideways to the photocopier.
6) While riding in the lift, gasp dramatically every time the doors open.
Three Point Office Dares
1) Page yourself over the intercom (do not disguise your voice).
2) Shout random numbers while someone is counting.
Five Point Office Dares
1) At the end of a meeting suggest that, for once, it would be nice to conclude with the singing of the national anthem
(extra points if you actually launch into it yourself).
2) Walk into a very busy person's office and while they watch you with growing frustration,

turn the light switch on/off 10 times.
3) While an office mate is out, move their chair into the lift. 4) In a meeting or crowded situation,

slap your forehead repeatedly and mutter, "Shut up, damn it, all of you just shut up!"
5) Speak with an accent (French, German, Porky Pig etc) during a very important conference call.

6) Find the vacuum and start vacuuming around your desk.
7) Hang a two-foot long piece of toilet roll from the back of your pants and
act genuinely surprised when someone points it out.
8) Present meeting attendees with a cup of coffee and biscuit, smash each biscuit with your fist.

9) During the course of a meeting, slowly edge your chair towards the door.
10) Arrange toy figures on the table to represent each meeting attendee,
move them according to the movements of their real-life counterparts.
And if that wasn't enough for you . . .
1) At lunchtime sit in your parked car with sunglasses on and point a hairdryer at passing cars.
See if they slow down.
2) Every time someone asks you to do something, ask "Do you want fries with that "
3) Put your rubbish bin on your desk and label it "IN".
4) Put decaf in the coffee maker for 3 weeks.
Once everyone has gotten over his or her caffeine addictions, switch to espresso.
5) In the subject field for all your e-mails, write "FOR S***** FAVOURS".
6) Finish all your sentences with "In accordance with the prophecy."
7) Don't use any punctuation.
8) As often as possible, skip rather than walk.
9) Ask people what sex they are. Laugh hysterically after they answer.
10) Go to a poetry recital and ask why the poems don't rhyme.
11) Put mosquito netting around your work area. Play a tape of jungle sounds all day.
12) Have your co-workers address you by your wrestling name, Rock Hard.
13) When the money comes out of the ATM, scream "I won! I Won! Third time this Week!!!"
14) When leaving the zoo, start running towards the parking lot yelling, "Run for your lives, they're loose!"
